For Xero users

Your Xero already knows whether you are running out of cash. Now it can tell you, every Monday.

Own Your Numbers connects to your Xero read-only and sends you a Weekly Cash Score.

One briefing on Monday morning: your cash cushion in months, a risk rating from low to critical, who owes you, what is due, and the five things to do about it this week. About a minute to read, by email or WhatsApp. Nothing to build, nothing to maintain, and it cannot change a single thing in your Xero.

What arrives on Monday

  • Your cash cushion, in months. Net cash divided by your monthly cost base: how long you could trade if the money coming in stopped. The formula, with a worked example from Xero's Demo Company.
  • A risk rating, from low to critical, set by the cushion. No judgement calls, no colour chosen to make you feel better.
  • Who owes you, oldest first, and what is leaving soon: VAT, PAYE, suppliers, the bills already on the runway.
  • Five plain-English actions for the week, written the way a finance director would say them across a desk, not the way a dashboard would.

How the Xero connection works

You sign in with your Xero login and pick the organisation. Xero asks you to grant read-only access; that is the only kind we request. Each Monday the briefing is built from your live books and the data is discarded once it is sent. There is no write-back of any kind: it cannot create, edit, approve, reconcile or post anything in Xero, ever. Your data is never used to train AI models. The four questions to ask any AI tool that touches your books, and our answers.

Already using Xero Analytics?

Keep it on. It comes with your subscription and it is a good dashboard. The difference is direction: Xero Analytics is a place you go to look, Own Your Numbers is a verdict that comes to you, on a schedule, whether or not you remembered to look. The honest comparison, and how it sits against Syft, Fathom and Float.

For accountants, bookkeepers and fractional FDs

Connect each client's Xero once and every client gets a weekly cash briefing under your name, with no write access and no extra work on your side. The monthly pack stays yours; this is the week-by-week early warning between packs. How practices run it.

Who built it

Ciaran O'Donnell, a fractional FD/CFO of sixteen years and FD/CFO of the Year 2019 at the British Accountancy Awards. The Weekly Cash Score is the Monday check he has run for his own clients for years, turned into something a founder can run without him. More about Ciaran.
